In Wicomico County, first responders from multiple agencies responded to a reported vehicle fire in the eastbound lanes of Ocean Gateway near Porter Road in Hebron at approximately 1:45 p.m. on Wednesday, July 6, according to fire officials.

Upon arrival, fire crews found a tractor-trailer chicken truck with the cab fully engulfed in flames, which were quickly extinguished, according to the Hebron Volunteer Fire Department.

The truck fire led to delays on the roadway for nearly three hours as hazardous materials units cleared the roadway of spilled diesel fuel and state police troopers and the fire marshal investigated the incident.

No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
